I've purchased! Now what?

Our Logistics team will reach out to you within 24 hours after purchase. They will work with you to set a hard date for delivery within the delivery timeframe you selected. You will be emailed a date confirmation along with a rundown of the delivery process.

What do I need to know about my delivery?

No surface prep is required. The unit can sit directly on the ground. We recommend that you select as level a location as possible. Doors can be difficult to operate if the unit is not level. Best sites include concrete or gravel, or you can place railroad ties or blocks capable of supporting the container.

If delivery is rejected due to the driver being unable to safely back into the location, you will be charged a restocking fee of $300 plus delivery fees so please make sure you have adequate space at your location.

Drop-Site Preparation

We do suggest you take the time to prepare the delivery site prior. Contact your local land grading company or landscaping company. They will level and clear the site. Lay Down a heavy-duty landscaping fabric. Set out 3-4 inches of coarse gravel, with a couple feet of overlap and use a straight board and level to insure the site is graded correctly.

Your drop-site should not require slope changes or moving over difficult terrain. When placing the container the weight needs to be distributed between the 4 corners. Concrete and asphalt are excellent surfaces but stone pavers, railroad ties or gravel work as well. If the drop-site is not level, the doors will pinch making them hard to operate.

How Quickly After Ordering Will I Receive my Unit?

Standard delivery times are 5-7 business days for used units. New units may require 7-10 days for delivery. If you are in a “rush” to receive your order, JMZ Containers can deliver in as soon as 1-3 days for an additional fee of $250 per unit.

Height, Width, and Visibility Restrictions

A clearance of 95’ is recommended for 20’ containers, and a clearance of 120’ is required for 40’ containers. In addition, our trucks require approximately 20’ vertical clearance for loading and unloading units, as well as 15′ clearance for entering the delivery site. We recommend a place that has high enough clearance for a truck to move in and out of your location, away from power lines and branches. The recommended width requirement is approximately 13′. JMZ Containers can review your site in advance of delivery for no charge to determine the optimal delivery process.

Planning Your Delivery

Please remember that we are not at your location, so you are our only eyes and ears. If the weather is bad, you must let us know so we can reschedule. For unsealed (not concrete/asphalt) delivery roads/paths/sites: when bad weather is forecast for the day of your delivery, or the ground is wet from previous precipitation it’s imperative that you contact us on (708) 433-9477 to have your delivery rescheduled.

It is important that your drop site is ready for the arrival of your container. We allot 30 minutes for our driver and equipment to unload your container and complete the delivery. Any excess time spent on site may incur an additional charge. On the day of delivery you must be contactable by phone. Ensure the path to the drop site is clear with no vehicles or other obstacles blocking the path. We recommended you inform your neighbors of the delivery as well. When the driver arrives on site he/she will walk around the drop site to check it’s suitability. If the driver deems the drop site to be unsafe or inaccessible the driver will not proceed. We recommend that you consider an alternative drop site for your container (in advance) in the event that the driver deems your first choice to be unsuitable. If you insist that the driver proceeds and attempts delivery to a site that is deemed unsuitable please refer to our Wreck Policy below. In the unlikely event that delivery cannot be completed and an alternate location cannot be agreed upon your container may be returned to the depot. On the rare occasions when this occurs your delivery fee will not be refunded. In the event that a driver is required to spend longer than 30 minutes on site the following fees are payable by the container buyer: $75 per hour for 40ft or 20ft containers.

Wreck Policy

In the event that there are issues upon delivery due to customer negligence, this would include but not limited to; Road and surface conditions , less space than required to complete delivery, JMZ Containers is not responsible for the cost associated with hiring a third party company to complete the delivery process. These instances are rare and to insure the smoothest delivery possible we highly suggest looking over our Delivery Guidelines.
